Today is the time when women have all the freedom to choose what they want to wear and how to wear them. While fashion is understandably a main consideration for most women, comfort and support should not be taken for granted.
Mary Phelps Jacobs, a socialite from New York, was able to patent the first comfortable bra that was actually made of satin and ribbons but without the cups. However, there were many bra-like inventions years before Jacobs but all of them tried to improve over the dreadful corset.
